The French Riviera is famous for its beaches and year-round sunshine, but also for its perfumes. The art of perfumery was born in the 16th century in Grasse, a town located 40 km from Nice. Fragonard is one of the most famous perfumeries in the region. Founded by Eugène Fuchs in 1926, Fragonard takes its name from the Grasse painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806), to whom Mr. Fuchs wanted to pay tribute. Since then, the perfumery has always taken care to offer the best products to its customers.

 

Fragonard for the creation of your perfume

Each year, Fragonard highlights the "flower of the year". This year 2022, it is the rose hip that is honored. The mini perfume creation workshop is ideal for discovering this wild rose, symbol of passion and poetry, with its very special scent.

The workshop takes place at the Fragonard Factory-Laboratory in Èze-Village, which overlooks the sea and offers a magnificent view of the beautiful village of Èze and the Mediterranean, or at the factory in Grasse.

On the program of this service:

• Free guided tour of the laboratory factory during which you will discover the perfumery and cosmetics factory as well as a modern soap factory. During this visit, you will learn more about the manufacture of perfumes and beauty products as well as the history of the Fragonard house.
• Olfactory workshop " flower of the year ". During this workshop led by a real "nose" of the Fragonard perfumery, you will personalize your eau de toilette with the scent of the flower of the year, you will learn about its history, its origin and its use in perfumery. The three compositions of mixed essences at your disposal allow you to create your own 12ml eau de toilette scented with rosehip. Accompanied by a passionate professional, it is a real moment of sharing and discovery that you spend during this workshop.

For those who wish to go even further in perfume creation, Fragonard also offers the Perfumer's Apprentice Workshop in its factory in Grasse, La Fabrique des Fleurs. Lasting one and a half hours, the "Perfumer's Apprentice" workshop is led by a perfumery professional who tells you the history of perfumery and helps you discover all the secrets of perfume creation, from the raw materials to the olfactory pyramid. You will then leave with your own personalized 100 ml Eau de Cologne, as well as a pouch, your perfumer's apron and your diploma signed by the teacher.
 

Fragonard Factory – Credit Summer Hotels

 

These workshops must be booked in advance and are not free. Count 69€ for the Perfumer's Apprentice Workshop in Grasse and 29€ for the mini perfume creation workshop in Èze. However, you can visit the three Fragonard factories free of charge every day, without participating in a workshop.
